Literal Data LLC is a software consulting firm founded in 2010 by Kevin Kurkowski, based in Traverse City, Michigan.
It is a business of one. When you engage Literal Data, you work directly with Kevin — a principal-level architect and engineer with 20+ years of hands-on experience in .NET, Azure, and NetSuite. There is no account manager in the middle and no junior team receiving the specification.
The business runs on two tracks: principal consulting for mid-sized organizations with complex integration and automation needs, and building SaaS products that generate value while I sleep.
Working Together
How I approach engagements.
I work in short iterations — one to two weeks at a time. Real stakeholders engaged throughout, not just at handoff points. Working software reviewed and adjusted as it takes shape, so the outcome stays aligned with what actually matters.
This model requires active engagement. Here is an honest look at where it works and where it probably does not.
This works best when:
- ✓Your organization can put the right people in the room and make decisions
- ✓You have a real problem to solve, not a specification to execute
- ✓You want it done correctly more than you want a fixed end date
It probably will not work if:
- –Every decision requires a procurement committee
- –Success means hitting a date regardless of what ships
- –You need a project manager between us
Engagements start with a four-week minimum — enough time to deliver something real and for you to evaluate whether to continue. After that, month-to-month with two weeks notice on either side. I offer that flexibility because the process works, not as a hedge against it.
If the first list sounds like you, let's talk.
Contact
The best engagements start with a direct conversation. If you have a project worth talking about, let's find 30 minutes.
